Pyronale 2009

September 4^th and 5^th September on the Maifeld at the Olympic Stadium

On two nights in 2008 around 60.000 spectators watched the gigantic fireworks-choreography in magnificent dimensions at the indeed most spectacular pyro-technical competition in Germany. This exceptional event is a fantastic occasion for spectators and media and is one of the main attractions in Berlin.

In competition are shows, which brilliantly combine traditional fireworks artistry with modern pyro-technics. With its furious premiere in 2006 the Pyronale became a paragon for unique presentations of paramount fireworks artistry.

The imposing ambience of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin and its bordering Maifeld with the historic bell tower offers a unique scenery. The fireworks world championship Pyronale took place for the third time in 2008. As every year six international teams competed against each other for the favour of the spectators and the jury. The creativity had no limits. The imaginative realisation of the productions with ingenious elements, breath-taking effects and gorgeous lights- and colour combinations made it very hard for the spectators and jury to decide on a favourite.

The winner of the competition was the company “Apogée Fireworks” from Canada, which was also the winner of the audience award of the first night. Runner-up was the excellent Swiss team “Bugano”, which received the audience award on the second night. The third team to ascent the victory podium were pyro-technicians from Denmark called “Bright Star Fireworks”.

On the 30th August 2008 the “Pyro-Night” in Erfurt took place for the first time. The winner of the three teams is going to enter the competition at the Pyronale 2009 on the Maifeld in Berlin. The cup and therefore the participation at the Berlin competition won the Austrian team “Feuerwerke Jost”, which already has made quite a splash at Pyronale 2007.

Another participant for the Pyronale 2009 is going to be determined in May 2009 at the fireworks competition “Colors is the sky” in Athens which is taking place for the very first time.

Like in the past, in 2009 there are going to compete six international teams who will amaze the spectators with their cunning and magnificent fireworks.
